Gabriela Espinosa or “La Espinosa” is a Colombian artist and illustrator. She studied Visual Arts at the Pontifical Xavierian University in Bogotá and after graduating she moved to Munich, Germany, the city she now proudly calls home.
She refuses to believe that Gutenberg and his inventions will ever go out of style, and therefore works predominantly with analog techniques. In which lino cut, etching and dry point engraving stand out, often combined with other media.
Her work oscillates between clear lines inspired by graphic structures and nature, and a more illustrative approach that deals with the blurring of the frontier between fantasy and reality.
