Astrid Shemilt, is an illustrator and graphic artist with a passion for analogue printing techniques and Japanese aesthetics. She studied Illustration (M.A.) and Communication Design and worked for DER SPIEGEL in Hamburg. During her creative residency in Tokyo the topic of liminality – having left the familiar but not having arrived yet – emerged as an overarching theme. Her work moves in the in between of illustration, art and design while incorporating aforementioned interests.
She is part of the Creative Hub at Ruffinihaus in Munich.
