THE WORLD IS BLUE (Yves Klein)
My interest in people and their surroundings has shaped my photographic vision from the beginning and also strongly influences my interpretation of fashion and portraits. On various trips I began to interpret landscapes and cityscapes and also process these in my cyanotype prints. The loss of authenticity and thus the ability to move and touch us, in my opinion, went hand in hand with the advent of digital image processing. When creating my cyanotypes I deliberately return to an old technique in order to direct people’s perspective back to the essentials. I photograph with analog cameras. Mostly 4 x 5 inch. My photos are all printed by hand and reach formats of up to 80 x 150 cm. All prints are unique because each print is different and has its own character. The process from 1840 is based on a printing with UV light and Iron, fixed with salt water from the Ocean. I also tone a view pictures, due the color of the Sand.
The Stroke Art Fair is extraordinarily interesting and for me the first time so show my Art in the south of Germany.
Next to the Pâtisserie Grahique Galerie in Biarritz, which show my Art for the past 2 Years, i did some Artshows in Cape Town in Hamburg.
At the Stroke i will show some motifs from my Water series.
These are motifs in the formats 30 x 30cm – 60 x 80cm – 80x150cm
They take us to the Arctic Circle in Greenland and the Indian Ocean.
From the Baltic to the Philippine Sea. All images are washed with the salt water of the respective oceans, which means fixing in the process.
